A Met Ball for McQueen

Posted on Tue, May 03, 2011

Last night’s Met ball was a site for all fashion followers to delight in. Known for being the biggest fashion party of the year, this time around was no exception. All of the most trendy were out to be seen and wouldn’t dare miss a beat at such a paramount event. The tone of the night was most noted in the types of dresses worn- theatric yet refined, glamourous while chic, fastened but still fluid… all terms that mirrored the man honored within the famed museum; The late Lee Alexander McQueen.
Whilst the fashionable few were treated to an unveiling of the exhibit, Alexander McQueen:Savage Beauty, the rest of us will just have to wait until tomorrow when public viewing is instated. From within, the display is said to mirror the exceptional moments throughout the late great designers life, even a set reminiscent to his home in Sussex, England. Those in attendance who knew the famed designer, were somber but sweet in remembrance of their dear artist. Many chose to wear his work, and the beauty of it was said to be surreal. As if the dresses were embodied with not only by a label but with the art composed by a man of such talent. It was clear that although McQueen is no longer living on earth, his work is still very much alive.
